Our Parish Altar Server, MARION: Brutally Murdered

He was 14 years old, an active Altar Server of the Cathedral Parish of St. Joseph (Balanga). His mother is an active member of the Parish Greeters and Collectors Ministry, his sister, is an active youth leader and member of the Parish Projector Ministry, Kisap-mata. On Sundays and most of the busy liturgical celebrations of the parish and the diocese, theirs is one, happy family serving the Lord and the Church.

On Holy Monday, his sister, Cristina, reported that Marion was missing. He did not come back after reporting from Bataan National High School where he was enrolled. Marion said that he was, together with his classmates, required to go to school to clean and for other requirements as the school year was ending. It was the last time that they saw Marion alive. After days of searching, Marion was found dead, with 8 stab wounds all over his body. It was during the Good Friday procession of the parish when he was found lifeless. As of the moment, an ongoing investigation is being conducted by the local police department.

The place where he was found was inside the campus of the school. Questions were raised as to the security of the place. The whole parish community joined hands in condemning the incident. We are still waiting for answers, and yes, for justice. His body was cremated and will be laid to rest at the St. Joseph Ossuary near the Cathedral after the 8:00 am Funeral Mass on Easter Wednesday, April 7, to be presided by Fr. Perry, the Parish Priest.
